Children's Ministry director


To assist the church to fulfill its ministry to children by giving direction and oversight to the programs identified below


II.              QULIFICATIONS

A.    A born-again believer, consecrated to the Lordship of Jesus Christ

B.    Agree with and support the church’s Statement of Faith

C.     Committed to the church’s mission and purpose

D.    Evidence of spiritual and emotional maturity with a genuine love for children

E.     Demonstrating initiative, creativity, leadership, organizational, and computer skills

F.     Adequate training and experience to fulfill the responsibilities of the position

G.    Fully invested in the Orange philosophy of ministry and use of curriculum



A.    Administer the following children’s ministries of the church:
1.  Nursery (Infant to age 3)

2.     Li’ Kids Church (preschool) and Kid’s Church (K-5th Grade)

3.     Children’s Sunday School (preschool-5th Grade)

4.     Lil’ K’Motion and K’Motion midweek ministry (preschool-5th Grade)

5.     VBS/SBV (Summer Bible Venture)

6.     Calvary Preschool- work with the school administrator for preschool needs

7.     Special events developed in conjunction with the pastoral staff and endorsed by the elders of the church

B.    Facilitate the recruitment of volunteers and background checks

C.     Evaluate and purchase of curriculum and supplies

D.    Prepare an annual budget for children’s ministries and submit to the elders

E.     Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the ministry’s children and programs

F.     Coordinate the use of classrooms and equipment for the use of the ministry

G.    Maintain open communication with parents and guardians of the children within the ministry



A.    Work under the leadership of the Lead Pastor seeking his counsel in the programming, planning and expenditure of funds for the ministry; communicating with him on any goals, concerns, or issues in the Children’s Ministry

B.    Coordinate ministry with members of the ministry staff, seeking their assistance and support in the accomplishment of goals and objectives

C.     Provide a ministry update each month to the elders

D.    Participate in ministry staff planning meetings
